A new trade fair stand was created for the colourful hammocks from “La Siesta” for the “Maison & objet” fair in Paris. The stand was conceptualized to offer a reserved backdrop and a functional framework for the hammocks.
Sandra Lindner designed a forest with stylized trees to confer the emotionality connected with lying in a hammock. It’s easy for visitors to take a moment’s pause despite the typically hectic trade fair atmosphere, look up to the treetops and perhaps even relax for a moment.
To meet the visual needs of the stand, simple, white tree trunks and leaf elements were repeated and arranged accordingly. This gave the colourful hammocks an optically clear, physically reduced framework.
Functional requirements such as stability, repeated-use or ease of transport were easily met using this approach.
